disable on mod on minecraft

How do I disable on mod on minecraft without disabling any other ones? On My minecraft, I have some mods active that I want to disable. What I can't figure out is how to disable one mod out of a group without disabling the rest of the mods. I have about 4-5 mods total that I am running, I only want to disable one out of the group, not the whole group. If you have an idea about what could help me please answer.
