[Info] A2 Email Server Issues

Good Day,

I am posting this here as well as in another thread I'm involved in so that it stands out as a host issue.

Suggestion: As many of us use the same hosts, perhaps start a category for "Host Issues" or "Server Issues" where we can post things as they happen. If others are having issues, they could check here first to see if anyone else has reported a specific issue.

A2 is reporting the following issue with their email service.

Outgoing Mail delayed on Multiple Servers

Status: Investigating Priority: Medium Affecting: System - MailChannels

Detailed Description:
Our outbound SMTP provider MailChannels is experiencing DNS issues and so outbound mail performance is currently degraded until this is resolved. We will update this notification as information is available.
Customers or services affected:
Multiple Webhosting and Reseller servers
Updates:
As of 21:15 EST The issue is ongoing.

As of this morning, A2 still showed the below issue outstanding. However, we are receiving our emails again from my A2 Nova site.

Good Day All,

A2's email service appears to have been restored. My site is once again receiving its emails with zero issues.

However, in the process, I learned the following...

So, if you have the following types of accounts, you cannot set up a 3rd party email relay client such as SparkPost.

-- Managed VPS
-- Managed Flex Dedicated Server
-- All semi-managed hosting packages

However, A2 assures me that their servers will process all emails. If any problems are experienced, they will work with us to resolve it.

The below issue with A2's email delivery is listed as resolved.

A2 is reporting this issue resolved. As of yesterday, we were still having intermittent issues with email delivery.

We have confirmed reports of delayed outbound email messages for some customers. We are actively investigatigating and working with our engineers to resolve this issue quickly.

Updates:

18:15 EDT We have determined the issue to be intermittent, and some mail will go through at normal rates and some will be delayed. No mail is lost, and only delays are experienced. If your mail has not been delivered yet, it is reasonable to expect it to be retried in the next few hours. Re-sending mail is not needed or recommended.

00:30 EDT Mail delivery has largely returned to normal. Please report any continued issues, we'll be glad to get them resolved.
