How do you guys recruit for your sims?

Hey everyone,

I run a Star Trek sim, but I don't run it in a fleet. I've had my fill of fleet related political drama, which is why I'm running solo now... but without the support framework of a fleet, I'm unsure of the best way to advertise and find new players.

My XO and I have posted on a couple of advertising boards we've found, and I run some social media accounts related to the sim (a twitter account, which I've fed an rss feed from the nova of released mission posts using hootsuite, and a pinterest board with various bits of reference for the sim). However, I've only actually gotten one new player from these efforts... everyone else on the ship is a friend, or a friend of a friend.

So, how do you guys find new players for your sims?

I can relate, DeathKitten. I've left a couple of fleets because I have a zero tolerance policy for drama. Are you still around by any chance?
