[MOD] Nova2 Manifest Details Mod

Hi Guys,

This was much requested, so I decided to let it be my first Nova2 mod. I wanted to play around with the code a bit to get to know the changes better.

The result is the manifest-details mod. It adds "species", "gender" and also a small thumbnail to the main manifest page. A config page for it is planned but I can't promise how much time it'll take me to add that due to some RL issues I have to deal with.

It also works with sub-departments and multiple manifests.

Yeah, I got quite a few requests too. Seems to be a popular modification, who'd have thought. I just created it at first thinking I'm the only one who wants more details in that list!

I plan to add a small settings page so people can decide which details they can put in the manifest page. Also, I think this code attempt is going somewhat backwards and I am not entirely happy with the way the thumbnails are done.

If anyone has any more requests or suggestions, feel free to offer, I'll work on that when I improve it.

Only real suggestion would be for whatever you have suggested actually. Kudos on the work so far!

P.S: Maybe even have this as a default in the next update lolz

The mod is now updated to contain a control panel now. You can install it (follow the readme please) and then control what shows and when in your manifest.

[Help] Page 404 - Page Not Found Error

Mooey,

First, thanks for the mod / update! I installed it and it seems to be working - at least 99%. I have done something wrong somewhere, though, and despite backing it out carefully and reinstalling, I cannot find my error.

When I click on the new menu item, Manifest Options, I get the following error

404 Page Not Found
The page you requested was not found.

I have double checked the settings in the Menu Item and they correspond to your instructions. See screen shot below.



Can you tell from this information what I've done wrong?

The second thing is only cosmetic... Most of the thumbnails are fine, but we have one that is cut off. Is this an issue with the size of the actual image or is there an adjustment I can make to the thumbnail settings in the mod?

The issue with the thumbnails I know. It's not an easy thing, because the thumbnails aren't just "resized" but also cropped, and some images have a weird aspect ratio that messes things up.

That's what I meant when I said i'm not entirely happy with the thumbnails.

As for the other error, this is really weird. Can you try to go manually to

If it doesn't work, can you verify that your admin.php controller has the "function modmanifest()" in it?

Very odd bug.

That totally fixed it. I KNEW it was something I'd done or my system was doing since no one else had an issue. This time I deleted the old file and re-uploaded. I think something had gotten cached wrong maybe.

It's all working beautifully now.

I installed it with one minor problem: one picture is bigger than the others. And you can't see her face, or the rest of her, but a spotlight is shining right on her chest. Not what I want on my ship. She'll be Chestala forever.

I will say that the way the thumbnails work is very annoying and unpredictable.. I used it as a "quickfix" and I know I need to redo this part.

Try to see if you might want to resize the images in the controller or change the CSS file until you get some balance on the pictures.

I need to think of a better way to work on these images. Automatic cropping is not easy..
