Re: [MOD] Nova-UCIP-Stardate--Date/Time

Just noticed that 1.2.4b got up 2 hours ago; should we now default to this build?

Yeah, I made a slight change to the config file to use 'Other' instead of 'UCIP' to be more universal in a selection to be made.

Re: [MOD] Nova-UCIP-Stardate--Date/Time

Something that'd be neat if it could be included:

An independently-controlled calendar. Because sometimes a GM needs to play with the timeball and stop time, advance by a few months in a single post, rewind the clock after a plot gets crickets in response...Y'know, the usual.:)

If a GM needs to do something like that then they just need to write it into the plot line. What you are asking for is way too complex.

Re: [MOD] Nova-UCIP-Stardate--Date/Time

Actually, really easy. Just have users create two new setting fields, one for date and the other for time. Your MOD can then have an option to pull those fields (along with the year from the settings table) to do exactly what's needed.

Re: [MOD] Nova-UCIP-Stardate--Date/Time

Ok, if that simple and you are referring to creating this:

Just a few lines of additional code will pull it off. Now the advancement of days automatically would be this issue. Using that settings page, the GM/CO would have to log in daily and manually change the stardate. That's if I'm reading the original thread correctly.

Re: [MOD] Nova-UCIP-Stardate--Date/Time

Correct. And like I said in the request thread, automatic advancement would be very difficult. But at least part of it would be pretty easy.

Re: [MOD] Nova-UCIP-Stardate--Date/Time

I have found a small bug in your recent download offering ...
The hooks.php has the class as 'Mod' when the class name in the UCIP-Stardate-Hook.php is 'ModStardate'

And I also can not get the date to show by adding the '<?php echo $stardate;?>' anywhere ...

What am I missing ?
Thank you for helping,
Jamey

Re: [MOD] Nova-UCIP-Stardate--Date/Time

I just pushed an update to GitHub. As to why you can't get it to display, I don't know off the top of my head as to what could be preventing this. Not without more information as to what other modifications you may have installed that could be causing a conflict.

Re: [MOD] Nova-UCIP-Stardate--Date/Time

Hey, it says I have to put something in a skin to be able to see it, but I don't know where. Where do I put the <?php echo $stardate;?> ?

Re: [MOD] Nova-UCIP-Stardate--Date/Time

I want it to show up just above Admin Control Panel on the Submenu to the side. Where would I put it in the skin?

Re: [MOD] Nova-UCIP-Stardate--Date/Time

Just saw BaritoneJP's post. I added it to the css files too. I don't know what else to do. You said add it to the skin so I added it to the skin. No go. Any ideas?

Re: [MOD] Nova-UCIP-Stardate--Date/Time

To add it to the skin, you would need to edit the following 3 files:
application/views/$skin/template-admin.php
application/views/$skin/template-main.php
application/views/$skin/template-wiki.php

Look for
Code: Select all
<?php echo $nav_sub;?>

and just before that add
Code: Select all
<?php echo $stardate; ?>

Your final should look like this
Code: Select all
<?php echo $stardate; ?><?php echo $nav_sub;?>

This will place the stardate block over your Admin Control Panel. Let me know if you still have issues.

Re: [MOD] Nova-UCIP-Stardate--Date/Time

G'Day All,

Just a quick question...

Does this mod work with current version of Nova? Is anyone using it or had any issues with it?

Thanks and Regards,
